Believe it or not, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is not just a topic for medical professionals or those working in construction fields. PPE of one sort or another is important for every person who does work – including common tasks around the house.
Of course, when you’re using power tools or dealing with chemicals, the need for PPE is a bit of a no-brainer. However, have you ever thought about using PPE for more simple tasks? For example, why not wear hearing protection when using a noisy lawn mower? Or, it may be a good idea to wear eye protection when chopping wood. Or, you may want to wear gloves when spraying weed-killer on your property.
It’s also important to remember to keep your PPE in place until you completely finish working. Many accidents have happened in the brief time it takes to readjust safety glasses or a hard hat.
